Rapid Birth Rate Decline in China

For the first time in decades, the CCP is trying to “actively cultivate a culture of marriage and childbearing” says Chinese President Xi Jingping. Gone are the days of China’s one child policy, which restricted families to just one child from the late 1970s until 2015. Due to the falling birthrate and population deficit, this policy has been updated to three children per family, along with efforts from the government to increase the birth rate by providing tax breaks, child care subsidies and maternal benefits for unmarried women. These efforts, however, have not been met favorably by the Chinese women, who complain that life is too stressful and competitive to have children.

After forced family planning and forced abortions in their country, how are Chinese women supposed to feel empowered and supported by their government in regards to what should be the most encouraging and beautiful part of a society: having children?

Tens of thousands braved the snow and cold in Washington DC for the 51st March for Life. Pro-lifers march to the U.S. Capital every year to show their support for the unborn. Similar marches happened throughout the country, most notably the Walk for Life in San Francisco, CA, and in St Paul, MN. Despite snow (and rain in the more temperate California), marches stood up for those who cannot stand for themselves.

Idaho Abortion Ban

In a recent ruling, the Supreme Court allows Idaho to maintain bold pro-life laws, restricting abortion unless there is medical proof that a woman’s life is in danger. This is an extremely positive step for Idaho and all states who seek to end abortion within their borders, and a legal triumph for the pro-life cause.
