Baby Girl Saved by Missouri’s New Safe Haven Baby Box

This February, the first baby was saved using the new “Safe Haven Baby Box” initiative. Safe Haven Baby Boxes are secure places for mothers to drop newborns if for whatever reason they cannot take care of them - no questions asked. They are heated or cooled and equipped with silent alarms so that help can arrive swiftly after a baby has been deposited. These boxes are clearly a life saving initiative and a way to give women who are considering abortion options for themselves and their baby. Missouri state representative Jim Murphy stated that “We knew the value of these boxes in Missouri, and we are thankful it was there for this mother when she needed it”. For more information about Safe Haven Boxes, and to find box locations, visit the organizations website: https://www.nationalsafehavenalliance.org

Lawmakers are demanding autopsies for the remains of five babies to prove that they were not the victims of partial-birth abortion or infanticide, in which case they would have been legally protected by the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act or the Born-Alive Infant Protection Act. Evidence suggests that many babies from this same facility are “born alive and left to die”. The Department of Justice wishes to destroy the remains, but certain Members of Congress believe that evidence is needed for the assurance that their deaths were not federal crimes, and that the late-term abortions were legal.
